Phoenix Suns Summer League Players to Watch: McKinley Wright IV
Ball-handler McKinley Wright IV played a bit for the Minnesota Timberwolves last season, but you’ll likely remember him from his four years at the collegiate level running the Colorado Buffaloes offense before anywhere else.
From freshman to senior year, Wright IV never averaged less than 13.0 points per game, but the Pac-12 legend does more than just score.
As a vicious on ball-defender and with crazy court vision, he carries all the tools of a “classic” but dynamic point guard. With Colorado, he averaged at least one steal per game for each of his four seasons, and at least 4.8 assists per game.
Wright IV flashed those same skills with Minnesota last year, working between the team’s NBA roster and their G-League affiliate. He hit a few game-winning shots as well, illustrating that “clutch” gene which only a select number of players carry.
He’s 5’11 and UNSTOPPABLE 💯

If you want to watch fast, aggressive, no-quit basketball this summer, look no further than Wright IV. If the Suns are down to close a game as well, look for the team to swing him the rock to go for any possible game-winning shots.
