Riddled with inspiring moments, leap from your seat plays, historic flair, and a whopping 64 wins, the Phoenix Suns 2021-22 regular season had more thrills than a Michael Bay film.
With Monty Williams captaining the ship, Phoenix stayed on course throughout the 82-game journey, even with rogue waves in the shape of COVID-19 and injuries arriving from time to time. Williams now resembles the odds on favorite to win the league’s Coach of the Year award for such efforts, deserving it for arguably the second year in a row now.
As far as grades go, Phoenix by no means needs to sweat things out in hoping for a passing score as we complete this regular season term. They won more games than any other group in team history. They danced with the league’s best squads, and outlasted them all.
For this season as a whole, the Suns obviously deserve an A+ for having accomplished all that. You could not have asked for a better year, and we will never see another one like it.
But still, anyone who’s ever worked with a group knows that even when your project turns out nicely, not everyone pulls the same amount of weight to get you there.
Although Phoenix did not appear to have any big time slackers on board this season, some players undoubtedly did more than others. Not accounting for things out of each guy’s control such as injuries, trips into health and safety protocols, or minutes played, final regular season grades for each Suns player go as follows.
