Phoenix Suns First Round Opponents to Avoid: Denver Nuggets

Like the Clippers, the Denver Nuggets might bring some important guys back into the fold over the next few weeks in Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr.

With those two beside Nikola Jokic, who’s somehow improved on his MVP season at least from a statistical standpoint, the Nuggets represent a true force in the West—one nobody wants to deal with during the postseason’s opening round.

With Murray at least, the Nuggets won two of their three games vs the Suns last year. He makes them an entirely different team, turning Denver from just another fish in the ocean into a great white shark.

At the same time, the Nuggets will likely come at Phoenix with a vengeance. With the Suns having kicked Denver out of the playoffs last year, even hitting them with the door on the way out by way of a series sweep, they surely want to take their revenge.

That resembles another tall order for a first round opponent. The Nuggets currently hold the sixth seed, so hopefully they hold onto that and end up sinking their teeth into the Golden State Warriors or Memphis Grizzlies instead.
