Phoenix Suns First Round Opponents to Avoid: Los Angeles Clippers

After giving the them a decent fight in the Western Conference Finals last year, the LA Clippers threw some solid punches at the Suns this year as well. They dealt Phoenix one of their 13 losses and own the third best point differential vs them amongst all teams in the West.

That was all accomplished even without cold blooded killer Kawhi Leonard.

Although Los Angeles head coach Tye Lue said that Leonard will “probably not” return a few weeks ago, anyone who watched the NBA over the past decade knows not to count out The Klaw no matter how grim things look.

With Reggie Jackson, Nicolas Batum, Marcus Morris, Norman Powell, Luke Kennard, and Robert Covington just to name a few, the Clippers feel like the only team equipped to challenge Phoenix from a depth perspective. If they get their star duo in Leonard and Paul George back on the court to lead that group, the Suns need to watch out.

If the Clippers do pull it all together, Phoenix still might emerge victorious, but for a first round matchup, they’re no pancake.
