Phoenix Suns vs Golden State Warriors – Nov. 30th, 2021
Just three days after their game vs Brooklyn, the Suns faced their biggest challenge yet: the Golden State Warriors. Featuring the game’s top two teams in the standings, this contest drew excess hype as a potential Western Conference Finals preview.
As expected, the game stayed close throughout the first half. But Phoenix suffered a major blow halfway through the second quarter, as Booker left the game and did not return after tweaking his hamstring on a drive to the cylinder.
Down five points, down Devin Booker, and while going up against the team with the league’s best record, most opponents would have folded right then and there, but the Suns showed immense character. They fought back and carved out a two-point lead heading into the break.
Holding off Golden State for two more quarters resembled quite the task for Phoenix once play resumed, but Bridges played flawless defense on Steph Curry down the stretch. The Chris Paul and Deandre Ayton combination rose to the occasion as well, with the Point God putting up 15 points and 11 assists, while Ayton added 24 points and 11 rebounds.
The Suns won the game 101-92, extending their win streak to tie a franchise record at 17 games. The victory also ensured a “no-loss November” for the team to celebrate as well.
