Led by All-Star guard tandem Devin Booker and Chris Paul, while supported by fringe All-Stars Mikal Bridges and Deandre Ayton, the Phoenix Suns have been nothing short of dominant so far this year.
Their league-best 48-10 record speaks for itself, as do the numbers pertaining to their success, with Phoenix also posting the league’s top overall and clutch net ratings.
Even with the Golden State Warriors off to a solid start this year as well, the Suns still sit six games ahead of them as we move past the All-Star break. Once again, Phoenix looks locked and loaded for the playoffs—this time on track for the Western Conference’s top seed and home court advantage all the way through to the NBA Finals.
The team looks on pace to contend for some individual awards as well, with this blistering hot start helping to polish off Booker’s MVP case. Although his wrist injury will likely disqualify him, Paul played at an MVP level over the past few months as well.
Bridges also embodies a true Defensive Player of the Year candidate, looking to become the first small forward to take home the award since Kawhi Leonard did after the 2015-16 season.
That’s a lot to digest, so before we move onto the 2021-22 season’s latter half, why not take one more look back at what was arguably the best 58-game stretch in franchise history? While every win matters equally, some felt more meaningful than others, such as these five which especially stick out from the pack.
