Suns vs Bucks Prediction

I hope you don’t have plans tonight. Cancel them, if you do. This is going to be incredible. Tyson vs Holyfield. Brady vs Manning. Geico vs an unusually long hold time that makes you wait more than 15 minutes. Suns vs Bucks.

The Suns have had this game circled on the calendar all season after blowing a 2-0 lead to the Bucks in the Finals and with both teams relatively healthy, you can bet we’ll get some fireworks.

Phoenix has won 14 of their last 15 and have looked like the best team in the NBA while Milwaukee is 8-2 since Jrue Holiday returned from injury and has covered the spread in four straight.

The Bucks in particular, have been sensational lately with their big three in the lineup. They have a point differential of +15.9 when Holiday, Giannis, and Khris Middleton share the floor and actually have a better net rating than the Suns over the last 10 games.

While still ranking 4th in the league in defensive rating on the year, Phoenix’s defense has regressed a bit and is just 14th over their last 10 games. They’ll need it to rebound against a Milwaukee offense that has the 4th-best rating since Holiday came back.

We should see a close game. That typically bodes well for the Suns, who are a ridiculous 22-3 with a 45 net rating in “clutch” games, which are games in which the score is within five points in the last five minutes. They’ve been incredible closers.

It pains me to say, but in a matchup I see as a coinflip, I have to go with the underdog. Milwaukee is rolling and the Suns are just 3-3 against the spread in their last six.

Giannis is the best player in the world, and with Holiday back the Bucks will be able to pressure Booker and Paul. Without Payne and Shamet playing, we’ll have more Elfrid Payton minutes as well which is typically a boon for the opponent. Those few minutes may be the difference in a battle of the titans.

I’m taking the Bucks +3.5 (-110) as Phoenix is forced to wait a few more months before the ultimate revenge.
