The Phoenix Suns need to shoot the three ball far more often

The Suns right now are 25th in the league in 3-point attempts but are fifth in 3-point percentage. With their top-tier ability to create shots and assists, they need to start shooting the 3-pointer more often.

We have seen teams transition to the 3-ball more often and it can have a damaging effect. On the flip side of that, the Suns are one of the weaker teams when it comes to offensive rebounds.

Whether their increased tendency to shoot the three comes from a trade for a shooter or just Monty Williams instructing the team to pull up more often, they need to roll with it. Doing so will become essential in the playoffs going up against teams who score points all day.

Adding the three to their game could take the Suns from third in the league in points per game to first. The Charlotte Hornets and Jazz currently average just over 114 points per game, which is just a hair-off where the Suns sit currently at 112.5 points per game.

They have the ability, the speed, and the rebounding to be able to get a little more liberal with the 3-point shot. With the big men down low, they should not be so afraid to let it fly.

This is the only part of their game they can work on, and after seeing how the Finals went down last year, they need to change the game a bit. This could be their ticket to not just a title, but a series of titles and take this team to a much higher level.
