Grading Phoenix Suns Starters: Devin Booker

Current stats: 23.3 PPG, 4.5 APG, 4.9 RPG (career-high), 40.3 3P% (career-high)

The word I’ve used for Booker this season has been “growth.”

After a slow start due to a COVID-19 diagnosis which caused him to miss training camp, the seven-year guard eventually found his way back. Thanks to growth from players around him, he keeps finding more opportunities for catch-and-shoot triples—taking full advantage.

Booker right now shoots 45.6 percent from deep. That clocks in as the 12th best percentage by all players averaging over 3.2 attempts per game. He also owns a sharp 60.3 effective field goal percentage.

But while moving on from his shooting, Booker also averages a career-high in rebounds per game, showing a consistent and competitive effort that falls in line with what makes the Suns so successful to begin with.

As expected, Booker remains amongst the elites with his midrange production, shooting in the 85th percentile from beyond 14-feet.

A pulled hamstring has him sidelined at the moment, but upon returning (hopefully sooner than later), expect him to keep growing and push the Suns to their max level.
