Phoenix Suns Missed Free Agent Signings: Lou Williams

Lou Williams has always been able to provide sparks off the bench. From Houston, to Toronto, to Los Angeles, and now Atlanta, this veteran guard possesses the ability to put on electric performances with ease. His all-time best three Sixth Man of the Year awards proves that to an undeniable extent.

Williams can find a bucket anywhere on the floor, and also owns serious play making abilities. Payton is a solid playmaker himself, averaging six assists per game last year, but his efficiency raises concern. Last season, he shot a lackluster 43.7 percent from the field.

The most valuable factor Williams could have provided, though, is some veteran guard leadership beside Chris Paul. He embodies the ideal figure to mentor Cameron Payne, who operates distinctly as Phoenix’s “sixth man” point guard.
