Phoenix Suns 2022 Free Agent Targets: Mitchell Robinson

Although Dario Saric’s return to full strength after next season feels likely given his youthfulness, it might prove fruitful for the Suns to add some insurance to their roster incase he hits any roadblocks. Likely to ask for little financial commitment and inflict minimal stress on Phoenix’s cap, Mitchell Robinson fits this bill perfectly.

Last season, Robinson’s campaign went derailed by injuries and he struggled to find minutes amidst Nerlens Noel’s emergence as a top interior defender. Both Noel and Robinson play the exact same brand of basketball, and the Knicks agreed to a three year deal with Noel just a few months ago. So when the time comes next summer, Robinson is certain to leave the big apple.

With Robinson looking for a new contract after Noel pushed him out onto the streets, it sets him up to earn a less lucrative agreement ahead the 2022-23 season. That consequently makes him available for Phoenix ink a deal with.
