The Milwaukee Bucks made the right adjustments against the Phoenix Suns in Game 2, attacking the basket on offense and packing the paint on defense.
Judging by these absolutely crazy statistics, Milwaukee should have easily won Game 2.
- Phoenix shot their first free-throw with 14.9 seconds left in the first half
- Milwaukee’s first foul occurred midway through the second quarter
- Milwaukee outscored the Phoenix Suns 54-26 in the paint
Here are three keys for the Phoenix Suns to get a 3-0 series lead against a desperate Milwaukee Bucks squad.
In Game 2, Milwaukee lost by double digits because the Phoenix Suns unleashed a three-point storm like there was a monsoon outside. The Suns were an astounding 20-40 (50%) from three-point range. But if they had shot at their normal percentage this postseason (37.9%), Phoenix would have only made 15 of those three-pointers. Milwaukee would have ended up winning by five points.
For that reason alone, I think Milwaukee is the favorite to win Game 3. I expect Milwaukee to play much better on their home turf, especially Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday. The Suns need to make these three adjustments to slow down Milwaukee’s offense and to take advantage of their suddenly-vulnerable defense.
