Episode 40 of the Valley of the Suns Podcast covers how Devin Booker and Chris Paul are dominating the 2021 NBA Finals, plus “Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K” and more.
Welcome, Valley Boyz and Girlz, to an NBA Finals edition of the Valley of the Suns Podcast!
In Episode 40, host Gerald Bourguet has a lot of ground to cover through the first two games of the 2021 NBA Finals, both of which were Phoenix Suns wins!
To start the episode, Bourguet dives into how the Suns’ star backcourt of Chris Paul and Devin Booker have totally dominated the series so far. In Game 1, it was the Chris Paul Show with some Book sprinkled in here and there. In Game 2, it was the complete opposite, with Booker overcoming a rough start to finish strong, while CP3 surprisingly faltered down the stretch despite having a good night overall.
After gushing over Phoenix’s All-Star backcourt, the episode touches on the Mikal Bridges vs. Khris Middleton matchup, which has been surprisingly even, much to the Milwaukee Bucks’ chagrin. Bridges had an overdue, signature performance in Game 2 of the Finals, but can Middleton bounce back as the series shifts to familiar territory for Game 3?
On a similar note, the latest episode then covers what to expect from the Bucks moving forward. Is there anything else head coach Mike Budenholzer can do to one-up Monty Williams and the Suns’ coaching staff, or is it just as simple as Middleton and Jrue Holiday needing to play better in order to support Giannis Antetokounmpo?
Finally, for our latest G-Rated segment, the pod praises Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K., a surprisingly fun stop-animation comedy on Hulu starring Patton Oswalt. Is it worth the time of Marvel fans and comedy fans in general, and what final score did it receive for Season 1?
