Phoenix Suns Important NBA Finals Players: #5 Cameron Payne

Payne is the go-to guy off of the bench for the Suns. He’s learned a lot under the wing of Paul, all the way from running the entire offense, to just knowing the right time to be aggressive and score the basketball.

He has given the Suns some much-needed life in multiple games this postseason, and I’m sure he isn’t finished doing so either. His 29-point and nine assist performance early during the Western Conference Finals immediately comes to mind, where he stepped up huge during Paul’s COVID-19 quarantine period.

Payne lands as the fifth most important player for the Suns for this primary reason: he is the key factor off the bench to get the second unit going, and keeping the momentum is more important than it has ever been for the Payne and the Suns.
