In Episode 35 of the Valley of the Suns Podcast, Jackson Frank joins to discuss Chris Paul looking healthy, Deandre Ayton vs. Nikola Jokic and more from Suns-Nuggets.
Welcome, Valley Boyz and Girlz, to another playoff edition of the Valley of the Suns Podcast!
In Episode 35, host Gerald Bourguet is joined by special guest Jackson Frank to break down the first two games of the Phoenix Suns’ second-round series against the Denver Nuggets.
The first topic is Chris Paul’s return to form, as it looks like the Point God is back and fully healthy after suffering a shoulder stinger in the first round. CP3 has been dominant in the last two games, picking on whatever individual matchup he decides to target.
Next, the duo takes a look at how the Suns’ offense is picking apart Denver’s pre-rotating defense, as well as how Phoenix is targeting Michael Porter Jr. specifically. Can the Nuggets afford to leave MPJ in the starting lineup for this series?
From there, the two spend some time talking about the phenomenal job Deandre Ayton has done against the league MVP, Nikola Jokic, in their individual matchup. Ayton hasn’t outplayed the Joker, but he’s made it close enough to give Phoenix a massive advantage with their superior depth, shooting and all-around talent.
Finally, the two take a look ahead to Game 3 to try and figure out if there are any adjustments Denver can make to prevent this from turning into a sweep or a gentleman’s sweep.
