Podcast: Devin Booker and Chris Paul finding their groove, ‘Judas and the Black Messiah’
In Episode 8 of the Valley of the Suns Podcast, Paul Richardson discusses Devin Booker and Chris Paul finding their groove, plus “Judas and the Black Messiah.”
Welcome back, Valley Boyz and Girlz, to another episode of the Valley of the Suns Podcast!
In Episode 8, Paul Richardson of The Sports Kave joins host Gerald Bourguet to talk about another strong week for the Phoenix Suns as well as the new hit movie on HBO Max and in theaters, Judas and the Black Messiah.
On the NBA front, Dario Saric is finally back for Phoenix, and it seems like people forgot how important he was to the bench. After breaking down his return and his value to the Suns, the show takes a look at how Devin Booker and Chris Paul are finally finding their rhythm together — both as a pair sharing the court and being staggered with different lineups.
Finally, for our “G-Rated” segment, Bourguet and Richardson take a deep dive into Judas and the Black Messiah, a tragic and incredibly well-done dramatization of Fred Hampton’s murder in 1969 and the betrayal that led to his assassination. The duo touches on the movie, the incredible performances from Daniel Kaluuya and Lakeith Stanfield, and the real-world lessons that are sadly far too applicable still in today’s world.
