Phoenix Suns free agency wing targets: End of bench

What the Suns will be looking for in free agency are wing players that can back up the shooting guard and the small forward positions. It could be two separate players or it can be one that is a combo wing.

But first, let’s get the last two guys that will be guarding the end of the Suns bench. These are players that can come in for $2-3 million and be ready if called upon. The smart money will have the Suns signing two of these three players.

The first player that can fall into the Suns’ price range would be John Konchar from the Memphis Grizzlies. Konchar is a solid 6-5, 210-pound guard that can also bomb it from deep hitting 57 percent over nine bubble games. However, he is a low volume shooter which Monty Williams will have to change.  Konchar averaged 15 minutes in those games where he also pulled down 5-rebounds per game, with his hustle Suns fans would love John Konchar!

My second choice would be a guy that deserves a long look, as I have watched this steady role player for years. Trey Burke is a mighty 6-0 guard that can hit outside, inside and mid-range. He could move from the end of the bench to sixth man in a blink of an eye as well if the team needed points or because of injury. He hits 43 percent from deep and though he’s not a great passer, he has great passing vision as he reads the floor well.

Finally, the third option would have the Phoenix Suns picking up another draft pick or just sign an undrafted player with potential for the 13th or 14th spot.
