#7: Detroit Pistons | Killian Hayes

Since the New York Knicks probably won’t take another guard from France, the Detroit Pistons will be quick to turn in their pick to the commissioner.

With the 7th pick in the NBA Mock Draft Lottery, the Detroit Pistons ecstatically select Point Guard, Killian Hayes, Ulm / France.

Killian Hayes is an 18-year old that is a 6’5″, weighing in at 215 pounds.

He’s shooting 52% from the field and an unimpressive 26% from three. But he does have a good looking shot and that should improve with as he nears drinking age.

Hayes is a phenom when it comes to passing, and he has a very good looking step-back shot. He sees the floor well and is crafty like Ricky Rubio and like Rubio he’s a true point guard.

Unlike Rubio, Hayes is only good with his left hand. It’s still my understanding that the NBA prefers its players to use both hands. But that’s just a rumor.

He’s okay on defense, good effort but he’s still learning the game.

Comparison: D’Angelo Russell out of college.
