#2: Golden State Warriors | Tyrese Haliburton

I think the Warriors are trading this pick rather than paying a rookie this much money. They don’t want any rookie in this draft that bad, but if they have to use the pick, the Golden State Warriors select point guard Tyrese Haliburton, Iowa State.

San Francisco Chronicle’s Connor Letourneau reported that, “The Dubs had the Iowa State product higher on their draft board than Ball.”

Haliburton averaged15.2 points and 6.5 assists. He pulled in 5.9 rebounds and shot 41.9 percent from deep.

That’s why I had hoped he would drop to the Phoenix Suns, and that’s why I knew he would not.

Haliburton has a good upside, but not as much as Killian Hayes, but at least Haliburton can use both hands. He’s smart, has good instincts, and is the point guard that can make other players better.

His defense is more than suspect, which can be said about most NBA point guards.

But he has the handle that allows him to play both guard positions which Golden State will love if they are “stuck” with him and plan to keep him to rotate with Klay and Steph.

Comparable: Shaun Livingston with a MUCH better shot.
