#4: Chicago Bulls | Deni Avdija
Chicago has needs that LaMelo can’t address. They need a small (combo) forward of the future.
With the 4th pick in the NBA Mock Draft, as legendary Bulls writer, Sam Smith wrote, “You can just hear the United Center announcer now. Frommmmmmm Maccabi Tel Aviv, forwardddddd….Deni Avdija!”
Combo forward, Avdija is almost 6’9″ and weighs in at 220 pounds, his shot not the greatest, especially free throws. But he is fundamentally sound with his shot, it will get better.
As for his size, he has a really good handle and is a very heady passer.
Deni doesn’t take a lot of bad shots and works well in the pick and roll. He plays the passing lanes well, he’s a better than average European defender.
Comparable: I think Mike Miller is a good comparison in him now. Though he has the potential to get into the “Hedo” Turkoglu conversation.
