3. Ed Pinckney (1985)

The Phoenix Suns selected Ed Pinckney with the 10th pick in the 1985 draft, fresh off his NCAA Championship with the Villanova Wildcats.

Sound familiar?

Pinckney played his first two years in the league with the Suns, where he piqued at 10.5 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

The 6’9″ power forward went on to have an impressive 12-year career, mostly serving as a mediocre role player for seven different teams.

After his playing career, Pinckney went on to be an assistant coach for his alma mater, Villanova, and three NBA teams, most recently in 2019 with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
