#26: Boston Celtics: Jahmi’us Ramsey | Shooting Guard | Texas Tech

Jahmi’us Ramsey out of Texas Tech fits the classic NBA draft prospect mold of an athletic guard who can shoot it well, yet is a little rough around the edges.

At 6’4″, he is uber athleticism. He is a hawk on defense and strong behind the arc, averaging 1.3 steals per game and shooting the 3-ball at 42.6 percent.

The area of improvement most glaring is overall basketball IQ. He’s not a very willing passer, with only two assists per game last season, and often times takes what many NBA coaches fond of analytics would consider poor shots.

For example, he is big on the dribble once or twice and pulling up from just inside the 3-point line. While that shot was a staple of the league in the 90s, it makes more coaches cringe now.

He’s a strong talent, though, and with some polish from the likes of basketball minds like Brad Stevens, Marcus Smart, and Jason Tatum, he could blossom into a contributor even for a good team like the Celtics.
