Phoenix Suns Draft: 2020 NBA Mock Draft 1.0
#29 Los Angeles Lakers: Immanuel Quickley | Shooting Guard | Kentucky
Immanuel Quickley is way too low on many draft boards out there. After struggling to shift to shooting guard his freshman year, Quickley quickly became the Wildcats’ leading scorer his sophomore season thanks to his shooting marksmanship.
He shot 42.8 percent from deep last season on a healthy 5.2 attempts per game and nearly led all of NCAA in free throw percentage at 92.3 percent. He is only 6’3″, but he has a 6’10” wingspan, which helps make up for his lack of height.
Quickley is so undervalued, I’m considering him the biggest sleeper of this year’s draft.
Any team LeBron James is on does not typically put a huge stock into rookies, as they often focus on established veterans who can come in and make an immediate impact. Having said that, Quickley would be a solid fit because all he would really need to do is come in, play solid defense, and hit the open 3 with regularity.
Essentially, he would take the place of JR Smith’s role after his short stint with the team is likely over at the end of this year.
