5. Momementum, momentum, momentum
This was a huge win for the Phoenix Suns as they go into their first regular-season game against the Washington Wizards on Friday. In order for this team to have a shot at the play-in game and eek into the playoffs, they will need to go 8-0 (maybe 7-1) in addition to getting some help from the handful of other teams vying for the same position.
For context, Devin Booker has never won four games in a row in his career.
This game, though, the team with the longest shot in the bubble defeated the defending champions, and it was a great way to build the momentum needed to do something special.
Even though it was just a scrimmage game, the guys on the bench were up and excited the entire time. Their body language was always positive and when everyone is playing good basketball and having fun, this team is hard to beat.
If nothing else, this game served as a great propellant into what I’m calling the most meaningful yet the most trivial games for the Phoenix Suns in a decade.
