Deandre Ayton hit another 3, his teammates did not

Deandre Ayton followed up his 1-1 from behind the arc performance against the Jazz with another 1-1 outing against the Celtics. Evidently, he just doesn’t miss 3s, so expect their launch frequency to escalate.

After the game, Ayton said Monty’s system is made for him to shoot that 3-point shot, he has the green light, and that he’s comfortable shooting it.

I see no reason to disagree.

Unfortunately, Ayton’s 3 was about the only one that went in for the Suns on Sunday morning. The team shot an abysmal 10-38 from deep (26.3 percent) and are now a combined 16-60 from 3 through the first two scrimmage games.

That has to improve if the Suns are going to make any noise when the regular-season begins. All the hustle and energy in the world can’t make up for poor shooting.
