Phoenix Suns vs. Dallas Mavericks | 8-2-2020

The Suns will have the Dallas Mavericks for their second and eighth game in the Disney bubble. Lately, the Suns almost always find a way to beat the Mavs no matter how bad the Suns are. The Suns went 1-1 against Doncic and company this season, and their victory was an impressive 29 point blowout.

Luka Doncic is an incredible all-around player and is virtually unguardable, but the Suns will need to find a way to make these two games difficult for him. That is where you insert Mikal Bridges and let him do what he does best, defend.

The second star in Dallas is Kristaps Porzingis, the big man shooter from Latvia who, like Ayton, has improved his shot-blocking. While his outside shooting may seem like an advantage over Ayton, I think DA will be able to cover him and limit the number of perimeter shots by KP, especially if he plays angry like last time. He may even put up a few himself.

Phoenix has the ability to beat this team, and if I had to guess, they will take one game and drop the other. This is one of the teams the Suns can make a statement by beating early. Dallas is a known playoff team this season, and if Phoenix could beat them twice they could show the world they are a serious contender to make a run for the play-in games and steal the 8th seed in the West.
