Devin Vassell

If the Phoenix Suns’ draft position holds at #10, their current lottery spot, then these next few guys might be there for the taking.

Devin Vassell is simply an overall solid basketball player. He has great length at 6’7″, strokes it from deep, shooting 41.5 percent last season at Florida State, and is a pest defensively, averaging one block and 1.4 steals per game.

He doesn’t have the same explosive capability as Edwards, but he did put up 27 points this year against Virginia Tech in a game where he shot 7-7 from deep. It was one of only two 20-point games for Vassell, who averaged 12.7 points per game.

Overall, Vassell isn’t a sexy pick, but he is a high floor, low ceiling guy in the same ilk as Mikal Bridges. Not that they are the same player by any means, but you know what you’re getting with Devin Vassell…and what you’re not getting.

Right now, mock drafts have him going in the late lottery, so he could be an option for Phoenix.
