Phoenix Suns vs. Dallas Mavericks | August 2, 6:00 p.m. PST and August 13
Who is ready for some more Luka versus Ayton debate? No? Yeah, me either. But we are all going to get it. Twice.
The Suns will play the Mavericks twice in their bubble stay, once on August 2, and then again in their last game of the stint on August 13. We don’t yet know the time for the second matchup as the league will likely try to showcase any games that might have playoff (or play-in game) implications.
Ayton played angry against the Mavericks in their last contest, pouring in 31 aggressive points and pulling down nine rebounds en route to the Suns’ 29 point blowout win in Dallas. He looked clearly fueled by the trade regret many fans have spouted surrounding Luka Doncic, and it would be great to see that same intensity throughout not only his games against the Mavs, but the entire Orlando season.
Phoenix Suns vs. LA Clippers | August 4, 1:00 p.m. PST
The toughest matchup on paper during the final eight games will be against the LA Clippers. That being said, who knows if (or how much) stars like Paul George and Kawhi Leonard will play with their playoff spot locked up?
The Suns stunned the Clippers in the third game of the season and it’s not crazy to think they could do it again.
I can tell you one thing for sure: Paul George will be glad Kelly Oubre isn’t playing after Tsunami Papi posterized him earlier this season.
