3 things to look for when Phoenix Suns return to play
By Ryan Bawek
Desire
I want Ayton to show how mad he is that everybody talks about how special Luka Doncic and Trae Young are from his class, but ignores him even though he had one of the greatest rookie seasons for a center in NBA history.
This is essentially going to be a down and dirty form of pickup basketball with no fans or pageantry, just cameras. I want him to play like he is in a dungeon.
Devin Booker does have the universal respect of his peers, and he does exhibit some of that “Mamba Mentality”, but he is still not seen as a winner, and I want to see him lock into these televised pickup games and go at opposing teams with trash talk and mental warfare.
I want to see Mikal Bridges with an improved form on his shot and knock down a greater percentage of his open 3s to become an offensive weapon in addition to being an elite defender.
I want to see an incredibly emotional and passionate player like Kelly Oubre use his platform to enact social change with his actions and play with even more fire on the court.
I want to see a group of guys show their love of the game and their desire to win no matter what, even with the odds stacked against them and there are no raucous crowds to play in front of.
I want the Suns to use this opportunity to end the season how they started it by giving Suns fans and the organization hope and excitement for the future, whatever that may look like in today’s world.
