6. J.R. Smith
The Los Angeles Lakers almost signed J.R. Smith in a move that would have reunited him with his championship teammate from Cleveland, LeBron James. Instead, the Lakers opted for Dion Waiters, so Smith is still looking for a team.
Smith hasn’t played in the NBA since 2018 which may be way too much rust to shed in an eight-game stretch, however, he has been a prolific scorer throughout his career and his experience in big games is worth something, even if he was the butt of a meme during one of those big games.
He is also the author of one of my favorite NBA quotes: “When in doubt, shoot.”
And like I said, the Phoenix Suns’ playoff hopes are in doubt so why not give J.R Smith a chance to shoot?
