10. Gary Melchionni

We dial back the clock again with number 10 on the worst brother ranking. Big brother Bill Melchionni was a 3-time All-Star in the ABA in the early 70s after playing a couple of seasons in the NBA.

Bill’s career-high was 21 points per game, so when his younger brother, Gary Melchionni, came around, of course, it was the Phoenix Suns who jumped on him with hopes he would reach his brother’s potential.

Spoiler alert: he did not.

Gary Melchionni played two seasons with the Phoenix Suns (1973-1975), where he averaged 7.8 points per game. These would be his only two seasons in the NBA.

Because of how long ago this was, we don’t have an image of Gary in our image database, but there is a great Topps card of him on Google. Pictured above is Gary’s son, Lee, who played at Duke.
