Ty Jerome

Grade: Incomplete

Stats: 3.5 points, 1.5 assists per game (28 games played)

While Cam Johnson saw a good deal of success in his first NBA season, the same cannot be said about Ty Jerome, unfortunately.

After receiving a ton of praise from Monty Williams and Devin Booker in training camp, Jerome got off to a rough start when he sprained in ankle just days before opening night. When he finally made his debut, Jerome looked, well, he looked like a rookie.

If I were in his shoes, I’d probably walk out there with my laces undone and my shorts on backward, so take this criticism with a grain of salt, but Jerome looked timid, lost, and at times, completely out-manned.

When he was running full speed, it looked like opponents were coasting past him while jogging. It is way too early to give up on the young man, and thus the grade of Incomplete.

He’ll have a chance next year and once again contend for the role of the backup point guard.
