Elie Okobo

Grade: D

Stats: 4 points, 2.1 assists per game

While his numbers aren’t too far off from that of Jevon Carter’s stats, Elie Okobo suffers from not having a niche.

He isn’t a great shooter, just a decent passer, can get to the rim but not at will, and is nothing more than a mediocre defender. Unfortunately, this jack of all trades, but master of none persona hurts his overall grade.

Where Jevon Carter excels in at least one area, Okobo doesn’t and therefore is just sort of an overall below-average NBA player. The team seems to think he is a bit expendable as well, as he was rumored to be part of the package that would have sent the Suns’ 2020 first-round pick to Detroit in exchange for Luke Kennard.

Okobo’s contract next season isn’t fully guaranteed and it will be interesting how James Jones plans to handle it.
