Looking Forward
There you have it, folks, the very best of 50-plus years of Phoenix Suns NBA Draft history, from the time teams were drafting their buddy down the street in round 18 to the current era where every single pick is televised and analyzed ad-nauseam.
As I mentioned earlier, odds say the Phoenix Suns will get the 10th overall pick in this year’s draft, and history says they won’t move up in the lottery. In an amazing stat, the Phoenix Suns have never moved up in team history. Ever.
With such a weak draft class, some people would like to see the Phoenix Suns trade their first-round draft pick and hopefully parlay it into a top-tier talent, but just like the trade deadline where nothing happened, that may be easier said than done.
If the Suns do keep the pick, we compiled an initial lottery mock draft that will no doubt evolve as we inch closer to the draft, despite teams not having much to go on this season.
Let’s hope the Phoenix Suns are able to nail the NBA Draft to start the 2020s (Obi Toppin, Obi
Toppin, Obi Toppin) and spend this decade playing in April, May and June, not sitting in a room
watching ping pong balls with Vlade Divac and Dan Gilbert’s son wearing a bowtie on a
Tuesday in mid-May.
