#2: Phoenix Suns White Sunburst Uniform

Ah yes, the obscenely popular “sunburst” uniform.

This uniform, while admittedly a little dated looking these days, was the epitome of cool in the 1990s.

It also represents an exciting period of rejuvenation, re-branding, and success for a Suns franchise that was one of the NBA’s very best in the 90s. They won eight playoff series and made the playoffs every single year.

It was first unveiled in the 1992-93 season when they acquired Charles Barkley who won league MVP that season and moved to what was then America West Arena and is now Talking Stick Resort Arena.

The slanted placing of “Suns” and the number on the jersey was very artsy and unique and the very bright white with the ascending orange and purple sunburst was very fun and eye-catching.

If you are a Suns fan over the age of 25, your first basketball memories were loving these uniforms and these Phoenix Suns teams. From KJ and Sir Charles to Jason Kidd.
