#3: The Amar’e Dunk over Tolliver

Third on the list was one of the most suggested moments from Twitter. It didn’t happen in the playoffs. It didn’t have a huge impact on the outcome of the game. It was just sheer awesome.

In the closing minutes of a regular-season game against the Warriors (which featured a very young Stephen Curry), Amar’e Stoudemire rose up against Anthony Tolliver and nearly put him into an early grave.

This wasn’t one of those posterization dunks where the defender half-heartedly jumped or tried to take an ill-advised charge. Tolliver went up aggressively against Amar’e and it did not work out well for him.

Stoudemire thundered home the dunk and made announcers and Warrior fans alike stand in bewilderment at what they had just witnessed.

You can find this dunk on YouTube, but also in random Internet/Twitter threads when someone gets metaphorically dunked on.

In 2014, when Anthony Tolliver actually joined the Phoenix Suns, he said, “A lot of people know me for jumping when I wasn’t supposed to jump.”

True, Anthony. True.
