Frank Kaminsky

Frank the Tank Kaminsky might be the most difficult decision James Jones has to make this offseason because his tenure with the Suns has mimicked the team’s journey as a whole: good, bad, good, bad, abrupt ending.

The Phoenix Suns can offer Frank Kaminsky a qualifying offer of $5 million. If Frank were to choose to accept, then cool. He’s back. Otherwise, he would test the waters of restricted free agency and if a team offers him more, the Suns could match. Else, later, Tank.

Kaminsky averaged a respectable 11 points and five rebounds along with 35 percent from behind the arc. Not bad for a 7-footer. Is that enough for another team to go HAM and make a ludicrous offer for him?

Maybe.

But, in my opinion, probably not considering he is coming off a fractured patella. Once he went out, the Suns were near the bottom of the league in bench scoring. The ability for a 7-footer to sub in and drain a few 3s is valuable in this league.

I think Kaminsky and the bench scoring he provides is well worth that $5 million and the Suns should offer it to him and hope another team doesn’t realize the same thing and outbid him. I wouldn’t go too high on his services, but yeah…bring him back.
