Kevin Johnson
Charles Barkley
Michael Finley

Did I say the Phoenix Suns didn’t have anyone from the Dream Team on their squad? Well, they did in 1996 when Charles Barkley graced the Valley with his large personality and basketball prowess.

The year was 1996. Bill Clinton was President. The Kentucky Wildcats just won their sixth NCAA Championship. The Suns, led by Barkley, finished .500 on the season (41-41) and lost in the first round of the playoffs to the San Antonio Spurs.

Barkley went on to represent the USA on the Olympic basketball team (again), but who would he have paired with if the Suns were to field a 3-on-3 team?

This year, Kevin Johnson is no longer a snub. He nearly averaged a double-double during the season with 18.7 points and 9.2 assists per game. His ability to create is too much to pass up this time around.

Rounding out the group has got to be Michael Finley. He was only a rookie but finished third on the team in scoring with 15 per game and at 6’7″, provides both size and athleticism that excels in a 3-on-3 setting.

Snubbed is 33-year-old Danny Manning and the strong rebounder, but limited scorer, Hot Rod Williams, who has the greatest name in Phoenix Suns history.
