The Bracket

So there we have it. Eight teams from different eras with the best combination of players for the newly-instituted 3-on-3 basketball event at the Olympics.

The next logical step, in the absence of March Madness, is, of course, to turn this into a bracket. To summarize, here are all the teams seeded 1-8:

  1. 2004 (Marion, J. Johnson, Stoudemire)
  2. 1996 (Barkley, K. Johnson, Finley)
  3. 2000 (Kidd, Hardaway, C. Johnson)
  4. 1992 (Majerle, Chambers, Hornesek)
  5. 2020 (Booker, Ayton, Oubre)
  6. 2008 (Nash, Stoudemire, Barbosa)
  7. 2016 (Bledsoe, Knight, Chandler)
  8. 2012 (Nash, Gortat, Dudley)

There is probably some rightful disagreement with that seeding, so in order to solve the puzzle of the best would-be 3-on-3 team in Suns’ history, we’ll put it to a Twitter vote. Each day we will tweet out one matchup and let the people vote on who would win.

Next. Roster moves that could make the Suns a playoff team. dark

We might not be able to watch live sports for a while, so let’s play out imaginary ones in our heads. Also, let’s hope the Olympics doesn’t get canceled altogether, because I’m really pumped to watch 3-on-3 basketball now.
