If the Phoenix Suns season is over, what did we learn?
Mikal Bridges has arrived
After the first two months of the season, I was ready to move on and abandon ship on Mikal Bridges. Since then, he has proven me wrong in every aspect of his game.
It seems that he has fixed the hitch in his jump shot and is shooting the ball with much more confidence and ease. His defense is something that has always been there, but he seems to be even more annoying on the defensive side than ever before.
What has really struck me in the past two months is his ability to rebound the ball and create in transition. I think someone finally told him that he is 6’6″ with a 7’1″ wingspan because he has been showing his ability to finish in traffic and be creative on the break.
Even though he doesn’t get many plays run for him, he still finds a way to score, most impressively with strong cuts to the basket to receive a pass or crash the offensive glass.
Mikal is a player that will never lack motivation or motor. His ascension is very promising for what is to come.
