Pick #14: Jalen Smith

If the Suns get the last pick of the lottery, either they ended the season pretty well or they got screwed over again. However, after watching the film on this next player, I was surprised he was still on the board.

Sophomore Jalen Smith from Maryland has the ability to be the best player in this draft class. He made the mature decision to return to school after he could have been a lottery pick last year to work on his game.

He has done just that while helping Maryland be a top-10 team in the country. His ability at 6’10″ to shoot the ball with good touch around the rim and extend his range to the 3-point line is impressive as well.

What really stands out from his freshman year to now is his improvement with his ball handling. He is confident putting the ball on the ground and getting to the rim, which could be deadly down the road.
