Through an up and down season, the Phoenix Suns are climbing the NBA ladder in the proper way, and the fans should remain excited.

This season has felt like a roller coaster for Phoenix Suns fans.

The team worked their way through half of Deandre Ayton’s suspension with a winning record including some big victories over quality teams and showcased to the league a young group full of promise, attitude, and talent.

After a decade of losing, Suns fans were able to feel good about the team and its direction.  Unexpected contributions, new free agent signings, and growth from returning players gave Suns fans a real ‘feel good’ for a few weeks.

Unfortunately, we are now seeing the other side of this bipolar season the Suns have put together. With the team sitting at 15-23 and having only won four of their past 15 games, it is not the highest of times for fans. Let’s get some perspective of where the Phoenix Suns currently stand.

It’s easy to forget fans’ low expectations coming into the 2019/2020 season. After years of bottom-dwelling in the NBA standings, the Suns signed their first good point-guard in years and received heavy criticism for it.

They made some other highly scrutinized roster moves this summer, and got rid of an unpopular general manager. But a win in the first game of the season was immediately followed by Deandre Ayton getting suspended for the next 25 games. At best, maybe a mixed bag of actions.

So, as the Phoenix sit at 15-23, why should Suns fans be excited for this team?
