#1: Dropping 17 Straight

From January 15 to February 23, the Phoenix Suns did not win a game. Not one.

They came close a few times, only dropping a few by two points, but for the most part the average 10-point deficit didn’t tell the full story about how badly the Suns played.

The Suns lost 17 in a row during that stretch before finally besting the Miami Head 124-121 on what was the last game of a five-game road trip.

It was part of arguably the worst season in Suns franchise history (if you throw out their inaugural year as an expansion team back in 1968) that saw the team only win 19 games.

The 17 straight losses ties for the fourth worst single-season losing streak in the decade, a dubious list no team was to be on.

During the stretch, it felt like it would never end, and in hindsight, how the Suns broke it on the last game of an extended road trip is actually fairly impressive. But, man, that was by far the lowest point of 2019 for the Phoenix Suns.

There is hope on the horizon (if this year’s Suns team could ever catch a break), but we will look back at last season, and this losing streak in particular, as one to forget.
