Aron Baynes has the nickname Bangers and for good reason. The dude plays more physically than most anyone in the league, which is awesome, but it has also led to him getting banged up himself quite a bit.

His face, in particular, seems to act as a magnet to opponents’ elbows.

On top of that, he has had to sit out multiple games due to a hip flexor and calf strain.

It makes sense. He man averages nearly four fouls per game and ranks in the top three in the league in charges taken per game. The former rugby player is not shy of contact.

However, physicality stats are not his only superlatives this year. He is having a career year in stats that more directly impact the game, most notably posting a career best 13 points per contest with the advent of his new and improved 3-point shooting stroke.

He can’t drain 3’s set immovable screens if he’s not on the court though, which is why I’ve stuffed his stocking his ice packs this Christmas. Heal up, big fella. The Suns need you out there.
