The All-Decade Lineup

Imagine this starting lineup with first reserves:

PG – Steve Nash/Ricky Rubio
SG – Devin Booker/Gerald Green
SF – T.J. Warren/Kelly Oubre
PF – Amar’e Stoudemire/ Markieff Morris
C – Deandre Ayton/Tyson Chandler

How much fun would that be?

The level of supreme passing that would take place with that team led by Nash and Rubio would be off the charts. Rubio’s weakness of 3-point shooting would be entirely buried.

Speaking of 3’s: Booker, Warren, Green, and Oubre would get more open 3’s than they could ever take with both their point guard’s exceptional passing as well as the anchors in the middle of Ayton and Chandler.

The reserve unit of Green and Oubre would help create one of the fastest, most high-flying units in all of the NBA.

Unfortunately it will never be, but it is fun to think about the actual talent that this franchise has put forth in this decade – even if it was pretty much all book-ended, and amounted to only 16 total playoff games, from only one season.

Hopefully the forthcoming 2020’s All-Decade Team is much stronger (and the franchise overall is more successful), with the presumption that Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton, and potentially even Kelly Oubre will be anchoring that list, as the will open it, much like Steve Nash and Amar’e Stoudemire.
