Poor Ty Jerome

This likely requires a dedicated post to explore the Suns’ possibilities at backup point guard, but from what has been demonstrated thus far, rookie Ty Jerome isn’t quite there yet.

In fact, if “there” was Phoenix, he’d be in Mexico City.

Jerome missed all six of his shot and while he didn’t post a turnover, he looked uncomfortable throughout the game.

Perhaps uncomfortable isn’t the right word. More like not-confident because he’s still learning. It may be time for Monty to consider one of his other three options at point guard (Tyler Johnson, Jevon Carter, Elie Okobo) or ping James Jones to trade for one.

I hate to call for such a short leash, and I know the best way to get better is to play (especially after missing so much of the season already) but Jerome isn’t helping the team right now, and someone with some more experience would be the safer play.

Now the Suns pack up and head to Mexico City for a “home” game against the San Antonio Spurs. Hopefully those rims don’t have lids on them.
