Entering every game thinking the Suns can win
The last few years (or more), Suns fans went into each game with fleeting hope of victory. Sure there was a chance. In the NBA, there is always a chance. But practicality often outweighed optimism and defeat was known to be the likely conclusion.
This season, the practical mentality is that the Suns could win. In many games, it is that the Suns should win. That is not coming from a bias fan; just ask Vegas.
The Phoenix Suns were 3.5 point favorites over the East-leading Boston Celtics just a few games ago. No one would have considered that a possibility a few short months ago.
Of course, Rubio tweaked his back and Baynes aggravated his hip so the game didn’t play out like the oddsmakers predicted, but it still says a lot the line was set there to begin with.
Losing Rubio and Baynes sent the Suns on an unexpected skid, but the fact it took losing three starters (if you include Ayton) to cause the Suns to struggle is something in and of itself to be thankful for.
All of this should make fans feel confident this team can beat any team in the league when they are at full strength.
And if that isn’t something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, then I don’t know what is.
