Valley Boyz Swagger

Thank Kelly Oubre for the wondrous brainchild that is the Valley Boyz. The gimmick gained some momentum near the end of last season and ballooned into a full-blown movement this season.

It has led to bobblehead promotional nights, vigorous crowd chants, and most notably, a line wrapped around a Phoenix clothing store eager to buy out a ton of Valley Boyz themed merchandise.

Led by Kelly Oubre’s energy, style, and his incredibly awesome in-game ritual of hammering out a few pushups after falling down, other players are following suit.

Jevon Carter is as emotional and competitive as they come, while also staying fashionable with mismatched shoe colors.

Frank Kaminsky even tries to stand up by fanning himself off after a made 3-pointer.

But on top of the peripheral swagger, Monty Williams has these Valley Boyz playing with the same type of energy. The ball is moving like never before in his 0.5 system and the defense is tenacious.

It all makes Suns fans thanks the hardwood gods they have a fun team to watch again.

Oubre’s primary Valley Boyz logo is a skull dressed as a Wild West bandit complete with bandana, and it perfectly encapsulates a group of desert dwellers who come after you with reckless abandon.

Be thankful you are on their side.
