What exactly is Dario Saric going to bring to the Suns?

Dario Saric is a good scorer, but not great  (he is a 43.3% shooter from the field for his career, and in his 13 games with Philadelphia last season shot only 36.4%).

Dario Saric is a good defender, but not great  (he has a career 110 DRtg, and last year was at 114 – Josh Jackson was statistically the worst player in the NBA last year and too rated at 114).

Dario Saric is an above-average 3-point shooter at 35.8% for his career and 38.1% in his last two seasons.

But is it wise to extend a 3-point specialist before seeing if at least one other part of his game can evolve him into a must have-type of player?

This isn’t to say that his intrinsic  value might not eventually be what makes him the kind of player that James Jones must extend at some point.

Yet at the early extension deadline, he is not yet someone that demanded such a decision to be made now.
