Lecque can jump out of the gym

If Jalen Lecque really has a sprained ankle, I’d be scared to see how high he can jump with a healthy one.

Lecque drew audible gasps from the crowd when he threw down a couple of monster dunks during the three-man weave drill. It remains to be seen how this will translate in a game, but the guy can get up.

Cameron Johnson worked out with the guards and wings

After the weave drills, the team split up. The bigs went to one side of the court to work on post moves while the guards and wings worked on cuts and shooting on the other side.

Amongst this group was Cameron Johnson. Listed as a power forward, Johnson has long been the presumptive backup to Dario Šarić, who worked out with the other bigs.

However, if the season began today, Cameron Johnson would start at the 3. Granted, injuries play into that, but for now, Johnson has a chance to show off his versatility and play multiple positions.

Deandre Ayton made 3s

Right behind Jalen Lecque’s dunks on the fan reaction meter were Deandre Ayton’s 3s. The big man hit two back to back during shooting drills and the crowd erupted after each one.

Clearly, the summer full of debate about whether or should or should not shot them was on his mind.

Ayton lit up after each make and threw up three fingers in celebration. If Ayton does shoot 3s more regularly this year, no one will be more excited when they go in than him.
